WELCOME TO THE STUDIO
Here is where all of the creative stuff happens! For the oil paintings, I usually
have an assembly line of pieces in progress so that the first few can be drying
before I work on them again. As soon as one piece gets "juicy" I move on to
the next and then revisit the first a few days later. In this way, the transparent
layers are gradually built up. When finished, an oil painting has to be left alone
for several months to "cure"; then it can be varnished.
The collages and paper lithographs require a bit more process. They are built up gradually from
items and images I've collected over the years. The lithographs are the most labor intensive
pieces. Each one requires separate inking and registration, and is then run through a press. Some of the images
are repeatable, however they are similar to monotypes because each one is also unique. As with
all true prints, the final image is a "reverse" of the image on the original plate.
The pieces shown on this site are a small sampling from my portfolio. Archival quality Giclee prints on paper or canvas and framing services are also now available.
